November 8, 2014

We started the day off on Wednesday at Nottingham with LE ROUQUIN. He jumped well on leaving the gate and got shuffled back into a midfield position. He was pushed along with two furlongs left to run and finished towards the rear. He is always going to be one for next season and has been booked in, to be gelded which we feel will be the making of the horse. In the second division of the race DOWN TO EARTH was making his racecourse debut. He was slowly into his stride and looked very green. He took a while to get going and looked as though he needed the run. He is sure to come on from that and is another who will come into his own next year. In the evening we headed to Kempton. We started the evening off with MY STRATEGY and PENANG PAPARAJAH who were competing against each other. MY STRATEGY was settled towards the rear. He was pushed along and made some progress over one furlong out. He kept on, but could never get any nearer. PENANG PARARAJAH finished just behind him. He tracked the leaders in fifth and was close up when shuffled along two furlongs out. Both look to be nice prospects for next year with another winter under their belts. We rounded the evening off with BORN TO REIGN who gave a much better effort of himself. The application of a first-time visor appeared to help and he looks as though he could just want a bit further.

On Thursday we headed to Wolverhampton with MISSISSIPPI QUEEN. She got bumped by the third when coming with her run down the outside. She showed ability and hopefully she can do herself justice in handicaps now she is eligible for a mark.

On Friday SILVER MIRAGE who had been third over course and distance last time, held every chance, but she could not impose herself on her less exposed rivals. She is puzzling as she looks as though she maybe wants a bit further, but she has already been tried over a longer trip. Hopefully we can find a winnable opportunity for her as she deserves to get a win by her name.

We have a quiet week next week with BY JUPITER being our only entry on Friday.
