On Thursday it was a return to the action with HALA HALA and CHATHAM HOUSE RULE at Kempton. HALA HALA took a keen hold and chased the leaders until making some headway to lead five furlongs out. She was headed when ridden and could find no extra. Later on the card CHATHAM HOUSE RULE faired much better. He took them along early on, but had no answer when the winner came to tackle him. It is a great shame that we have never had a clear run with him and someone could just get themselves a bargain at the sales.

On Friday we declared a nice two year old called PENANG PAPARAJAH. He raced towards the rear and made some headway over two furlongs out. He was soon ridden and kept on again in the final furlong. It was an encouraging run and he looks a nice horse for next season. Later on the card RAVEN RIDGE did not run as expected and did not appear to help his jockey at all. The application of head gear could possibly just enhance his chances. At Newbury THATCHEREEN was returning from a short break. She raced close to the pace throughout and kept on to the line. She is so consistent and always gives her all. She will be a nice filly for next season and we are delighted she will be staying in training.

On Saturday we had declared THEM AND US at Doncaster. He tracked the leading pair and was pushed along over two furlongs out. He was ridden well over a furlong from home and soon weakened. He looked to be possibly unsuited by the ground having won at Ripon on good ground. In the evening we sent three to Wolverhampton starting the evening with GEORGE CINQ. He again gave another decent display of himself and it is great news that he is being retained for next season. He always runs with credit and should again be competitive next season over seven furlongs to a mile. Sadly ROCK OF LEON failed to make it two out of two later on the card. He was found out by the muddling gallop over this much shorter trip and he certainly would have been suited by more of a test of stamina. We rounded the evening off with SALTWATER CREEK who again ran below her best on a return to the all weather and back up in trip. She heads in to the sales on the back of this run and hopefully someone will take a shine to her.
