On Wednesday we headed to Kempton with GRAND MEISTER. He was pushed along early on and looked outpaced two furlongs out. He seems to have struggled since winning his race and needs to be given some relief from the handicapper.

On Thursday MY STRATEGY made his racecourse debut at Newmarket. He chased the winner until over three furlongs out. He lost his place when under pressure over two furlongs out and then weakened over one furlong out.

On Friday we headed to Haydock with BIPARTISAN. She chased the leaders and was ridden along at the halfway stage. She soon weakened and certainly did not run her race. She is better than this run would suggest and we will see how she is before making further plans. Later on the card GALIZZI appeared not to get home trying fourteen furlongs for the first time. He travelled strongly for a long way and should be seen to better effect when returned to twelve furlongs.

Today we were delighted with the effort shown by THEM AND US at Ripon. He made a promising start, running on well and looks potentially useful. William Twiston-Davies comment in the Racing Post was “I rode him in a bit of work at Mr Bell’s last Saturday and he impressed me. I told him I thought it might be a good move starting him over six but he’s going to be better over further”. Hopefully he will make up into a decent sort. At Haydock we were delighted with the effort from SAMPERA. She looked to have improved from her debut showing in a Salisbury maiden, but the winner proved far too good. She still looked a little green and hopefully she will keep progressing. Our last runner was at Chester and that was FIERY SUNSET. She tracked the leaders and led after three furlongs. She set a steady pace and increased the gallop over four furlongs out. She was headed over two furlongs out and hung right. She soon weakened and could find no more.

On Monday we have declared WHITE VIN JAN at Hamilton. She is a consistent performer and if she recreates her recent Leicester run she should take all the beating.
