On Thursday we started the afternoon at Yarmouth with MANTOU. He came up against a well handicapped horse of Sir Mark Prescott’s. He looked slightly outpaced early on he stayed on again towards the finish to take third.
At Kempton we started the evening of with MISSISSIPPI QUEEN. The stewards were fairly harsh on Louis Steward giving him a ten day ban for looking after the filly as she had bled. She was held up in the rear before running on in the home straight. She is capable of winning races and hopefully we can get her right for next time she takes her chance. Hopefully the stewards will have a change of heart and re-think Louis ban, if he decides to appeal it. We rounded the evening off with INSTANT KARMA who showed encouraging signs on his racecourse debut. He was too inexperienced to do himself justice early on, but when the penny started to drop he made a decent effort and should improve.
At Newmarket yesterday something appeared to be a miss with SPIRITOFTHEUNION who run too bad to be true. She chased the leaders and lost her place four furlongs out. She lost touch two furlongs out and could find no more. Later on the card GEORGE CINQ gave another consistent effort of himself. Held up in touch in midfield positions, he was asked for his effort two furlongs out. He chased leaders and looked slightly one paced when under pressure inside the final furlong. In the evening ALMAX was disappointing at Wolverhampton. In touch on the rail he weakened over four furlongs out and was soon behind.
Tomorrow we have declared WHITE VIN JAN at Leicester. She is already a course and distance winner at the track and still appears in good form.
On Tuesday we head to Newcastle with ZACYNTHUS. He heads into the race in good form after his Lingfield third and hopefully after some decent effort he will get his head in front. We round the day off at Lingfield where SALTWATER CREEK takes her chance. She appears to have lost her was slightly and hopefully we will be able to get her back on track.
