THATCHEREEN put in a below par performance at Brighton on Sunday. She chased the leaders and was hard ridden two furlongs out. She soon weakened and never looked competitive.

On Monday we started the afternoon of at Leicester with SONAR. He slightly lost his action on leaving the stalls and was soon pushed along in the rear. He weakened and was eased halfway. He never looked particularly comfortable, but he has taken the race well and hopefully he will now get a handicap mark which he can be competitive off. Later on the card WHITE VIN JAN was hoping to make it four out of four. She raced with the leader until pushed along over two furlongs out. She was ridden and had every chance when unable to quicken towards the finish. She has had four races close together now and we will freshen her up before making further plans. At Brighton we had declared STONE ROSES a runner. She chased the leaders and briefly came to win her race and went second. She could find no extra over one furlong out and finished fourth. It is a bit puzzling as she has done some really nice bits of work at home and certainly appears to have talent.

We have had no runners yesterday or today and then tomorrow we send three to Salisbury and two to Haydock. The afternoon starts for us at Haydock where HALA HALA takes her chance. She has been desperately unlucky not to get a win by her name so far after two decent efforts. She remains in good form and should give a good account of herself. Later on the card we introduce a nice two-year-old colt to the racecourse. He looks to be a nice individual who is incredibly handsome to look at. He goes nicely in his work at home and although he will probably need the run he is sure to come on for the experience. At Salisbury we start the first division of the maiden with BANZARI a good looking filly by Motivator. She seems to have done really well after a spring break and looks to have certainly strengthened up for it. She has been giving some pleasing effort on the gallops and although it does look a decent maiden we expect her to give a good account of herself. In the second division SAMPERA takes her chance. She took a while to come to herself, but she appears to have thrived with some sunshine on her back. She is a nice filly who will get better with her racing. We round off proceedings with recent Yarmouth winner TOUCHLINE. She has always been held in high regard in the yard and she certainly did not act on the track at Goodwood on her first start. She looks to have improved for her win and it would be great to see her run well in this sort of company.

On Friday we have declared HOT MUSTARD and ALMAX at Chepstow. HOT MUSTARD seems to be back in good form after his disappointing Newmarket run. He has been consistent this season and it would be great to see him get off the mark again. ALMAX looked lazy on his last start and so we have applied a visor to sharpen him up a bit. He worked nicely in them this morning and hopefully this will enhance his chances.
