On Monday we headed to Pontefract where we had declared DUKE’S GIRL to run. She was given a positive ride and had been dropped back in trip. She relaxed better during the early parts and stuck to her task gamely when asked for her effort. Sadly she could not hold on and had to settle for second. It was a shame we could not get a win on the board with her before heading into the Horses in Training Sales.

Later in the evening we headed to Kempton where GLASSALT took her chance. Held up in a midfield position, she was asked for her effort over two furlongs out and did not appear to find anything. She certainly did not recreate her Yarmouth run and we know she is better than this run would suggest.

Yesterday at Brighton RUPERT’S LASS started the action off for us. She raced in touch and when asked for her effort she stayed on at the same pace. She looks as though she would appreciate further and is now eligible for a handicap mark to run in nurseries.

We rounded the day off at Newcastle where NURSE NIGHTINGALE took her chance. She attempted to dominate the race and it looked as though she was going to be successful but sadly was just caught before the line. It was a good effort from her and hopefully we will be able to find another opportunity for her shortly.

Today we have had just had the one runner that being ARTARMON who was making his racecourse debut at Nottingham. In touch for the early part of the race, he looked to get tired when asked for his effort and was soon ridden along. He looks as though he will appreciate further and is sure to come on for the run. He looks a nice prospect for next season once he has had another winter under his belt to fill his frame.
On Friday we start the afternoon off at York where JE SUIS CHARLIE takes his chance. It will probably be his last opportunity before the Horses in Training Sales and he heads into the race in good form. He ran well at Catterck on his last start finishing second in a valuable handicap. At Newmarket WINSTON C takes his chance. He ran with credit on his last start at Haydock finishing fourth on heavy ground over fourteen furlongs. The drop back to twelve furlongs will hopefully suit him and it would be nice to get another win by his name. We round off the day with ESME KATE who is making her racecourse debut. She has been working nicely at home and although we feel she is going to be a filly for next season we expect her to run a nice race.
