On Friday we started the afternoon off at Goodwood with RAYS THE MONEY. He was again slowly away, but the strong pace helped him and he appeared to hit top gear as others were fading. He plugged away in the final furlong to finish sixth. His only win on the turf came on good to firm ground and so he would possibly not have been suited by the conditions.

Later on the card we were delighted with the effort shown by ROULETTE who certainly appeared to have come on for her debut run at Newmarket. She had the run of the race and when asked for her effort she held on. She did not look like she appreciated the soft ground and looks a progressive type who will do herself justice in nurseries on a faster surface.

We rounded off the day at Nottingham with MAORI BOB. Stepped up in trip, he travelled really well but was slightly left for dead when the first few moved on. He looked as though he did not stay the two miles in these testing conditions.

After the withdrawal of RONALD R at Goodwood on Friday it left us with JE SUIS CHARLIE being our only runner at Bath. He did not really see his race out as well as we had hoped, as he had been travelling so nicely during the race. He had every chance when asked for his effort but did not appear to quicken. He might be suited by a drop back in trip or maybe going a bit further.

Today our only runner was FIRST DRIVE at Newmarket. She pressed the leaders and was ridden well over a furlong out. She kept on at the same pace and looked as though she was unable to quicken on the ground.
On Monday we head to Windsor with the two declared runners. Making her racecourse debut is RUPERT’S LASS a nice looking filly by Myboycharlie. She looks as though she will benefit from the racecourse experience and hopefully with a run under her belt she will keep progressing. Later on the card SHIMMERING LIGHT takes her chance. She appears to have slightly lost her way since her promising debut run at Newbury and hopefully she can bounce back to form here.
