Yesterday we headed to Glorious Goodwood with our first runners at this year’s meeting. FABRICATE started the afternoon off for us and it could not have started much better. He was dropped back in trip and travelled nicely throughout the race. He made his challenge when getting a hefty bump and was awarded the race in the steward’s room after being second past the post.

Later on the card we were delighted with the run from BIG ORANGE. Sadly he did not get his hat trick up in the race, but ran with so much credit giving the eventual winner nearly a stone in weight which was a big ask. Thankfully he appears to have taken the race well and looked in great shape this morning.

At Yarmouth HANNINGFIELD failed to make any impression in his race at Yarmouth and he does not really look in love with the game.

Today we started the day off at Goodwood when WINSTON C took his chance. He travelled nicely throughout the race and appeared to cope with the ground. He looks progressive and should be capable of winning a similar contest. Later on the card we were pleased with the effort shown by REVIVED on her racecourse debut. She travelled strongly in behind runners, but just got tired and

could not quicken on the ground. She can build on what was a promising debut run. We rounded the day at Goodwood with THREE DUCHESSES and sadly with all the rain that had fallen, the conditions had gone against her. In the evening we headed to Sandown with ARMAGNAC. He took a keen hold early on and soon settled for some cover. He was given every opportunity when asked for his effort, but did not find enough to sustain a challenge. Later on the card DUCHY tracked the leaders and when asked for her effort she soon weakened. We expected better from her and we will see how she comes out of the race before making further plans. Our last runner of the day was CHICKPEA. Slowly into her stride, she raced very green and looked as though she needed the run. She has been working nicely at home and I am sure she will come on for the experience.

Tomorrow we start the afternoon off at Goodwood with RAY’S THE MONEY. He gets into the race with one of the lowest weights and is capable of running a good race. Later on the card ROULETTE takes her chance. She appears to have come on for her debut run at Newmarket and hopefully will show that improvement here. We round the day off at Nottingham with MAORI BOB. He pulled hard on his last start at Newmarket last time but still ran very well. Louis Steward is great at settling horses and if he settles it would certainly enhance his chances.

On Friday we head to Goodwood with RONALD R. Hopefully conditions will dry up a bit for him to be seen to his best. At Bath we have declared JE SUIS CHARLIE. He has been in great form at home and hopefully we have found an ideal opportunity for him.
