On Thursday we started the afternoon off at Newmarket with the THEGLASGOWWARRIOR. He again ran well, but was never quite getting on terms with the progressive winner. Hopefully it will not be too long before he goes one better, but he is going up the handicap without winning.

We rounded off the afternoon with HART STOPPER and he provided us with another second. He came from off the pace and when asked to make his challenge he stayed on, but could not get to the winner. He looks capable of winning off this mark.

On Friday we started the afternoon with SHIMMERING LIGHT at Doncaster. She raced in touch and was soon ridden along, but sadly did not find anything to muster a challenge. She appears to have come out of the race well and we will she is over the next few days before making further plans. We certainly expected a better effort from her.

At Yarmouth FIRE BRIGADE took his chance. Held up in midfield, he was driven over one furlong out and could find no extra just inside the final furlong. The jockey felt that the ground had dried up too much for him.

In the evening we started with MAORI BOB at Newmarket. He pulled rather hard and raced wide on the track sadly without managing to get any cover. He deserves credit for sticking on as well as he did and hopefully we can find a winnable opportunity for him next time.

We rounded off the day with another second at Chester with JE SUIS CHARLIE. Dropped back a furlong and a half in trip, the race panned out well for him and he was running on well enough at the end. He is entered again on Friday at Haydock, but that might just come a bit too soon for him.

Today we were delighted with the effort shown by GRACELAND at Newcastle in the consolation race for the Northumberland Place. She had raced too freely when fourth at Chelmsford on her last start, but settled well here. She looked as though she was going to get up, but just could not get past the eventual winner. Louis gets on so well with the filly and she certainly runs well for him.
On Monday we start the afternoon off at Wolverhampton where WINSTON C takes his chance. He comes into the race on the back of two thirds and it would be great to get a win under his belt before the July Sales. In the evening we head to Windsor with FLYING SPARKLE, a nice two-year-old filly making her racecourse debut. She has been ridden in her work by Hayley Turner who comes out of retirement to take the leg up! Hopefully she will run with bags of encouragement. We round off the day with ARMAGNAC and hopefully we have found a race that he will be competitive in. He did a nice piece of work this morning and hopefully that has put him spot for his race here.
