Sunday 16th October
October 16, 2016
On Thursday we had declared the two runners in the same race at Brighton. MAORI BOB was making his racecourse debut, and he appeared to be a bit star struck by the occasion never got competitive. He has worked well at home and we know he is better than this run would suggest. Also in the race was CHAKRA who failed to get competitive and has yet to fulfil her potential.
On Saturday it was great to get another winner on the board which came via MACHINE LEARNER at Catterick. Given a patient ride and delivered with a well-timed challenge, he took over close from home and confirmed himself as a progressive three-year-old type. He is versatile ground-wise and someone may just pick up a bargain at the Horses in Training Sales.
Today we have seen a TAPER TANTRUM fail to keep his unbeaten record going at Kempton. He did far too much through the first half of the race and paid for that up the straight. He certainly looks to have ability, but needs to learn to settle.
We have no runners tomorrow then on Tuesday we head to Kempton with PURPLE RAVEN. She is starting to find her form and it would be nice to get a win under her belt before the Horses in Training Sales.
Today the horses worked on the watered gallop
