Wednesday 12th October

October 12, 2016

On Monday we headed to Yarmouth with the three declared runners. We started the afternoon of with STICKS MCKENZIE who never got into his race at all and he will now head to the Horses in Training Sales later in the month.  Later on the card AID TO AFRICA was soon labouring and never got competitive. We rounded off the day with FIRE BRIGADE who got loose on his way to the start and was always up against it after that. He has now been gelded and hopefully this will bring about the improvement that we know this horse possesses.

Today we headed to Nottingham with ARMAGNAC. Held up in a midfield position, he hung left over two furlongs out and soon weakened. He is always going to be a horse for next year and will improve with another winter under his belt. We rounded the day off at Bath with PURPLE MAGIC who came into the race on the back of a hat-trick of handicap wins. She showed that she was not out of place at this level and was staying on well. She appears to be still progressing and looks capable of doing herself in a similar contest.

Tomorrow we have declared the two runners at Brighton in the same race. MAORI BOB looks a promising sort who has really progressed over the last month. He may just need the run but we think he is a nice who will keep progressing. CHAKRA was disappointing at Haydock on her racecourse debut. We think she is better than this run would suggest and she appears to have come on for it in her work.

Today the horses worked on the watered gallop
