On Wednesday evening we had declared the two runners at Chelmsford. We started the evening off with ALCANAR. He was steadied at the start and when asked for his effort he stayed on at the same pace. He is now eligible for a handicap mark and possibly he will be better over a bit further. Later on the card TAPER TANTRUM again gave another consistent effort. He was kept fairly handy and when asked for his effort he did not have the turn of foot as the others and plugged on at the same pace. He appears to be finding his form, but sadly is creeping up the handicap without actually winning.
On Thursday evening we headed to Kempton with the two runners. We started the evening off with MIDNIGHT MYSTIC. She never really got into her race and although she looked a little green she probably did not give her best. We will see how she comes out of the race before making further plans. Later on the card GIANT REDWOOD had been stepped back up to two miles. He was settled towards the rear and when asked for his effort he stayed on at the one pace without troubling the leaders. He could be one for joining INSTANT KARMA over the hurdles as he looks as though he will be suited for jumping
On Friday to we started the afternoon off at Market Rasen with INSTANT KARMA. Sadly he met a horse on the top of his game, who was bidding for a four timer, but he ran well in defeat and possibly if there had been a bit more cut in the ground maybe it would have been more to his liking. Later on the card we had all expected a decent effort from SCHOOL FETE who had worked so well in the first time visor. He was never really travelling and was found to be wrong after his race. We will see how he is before making further plans.
On Saturday DAVEY BOY failed to make any impression in his race at Lingfield and was disappointing. Later on the card BLUE MOON RISING was having her first run of her 2016 campaign. She ran with credit and is sure to have needed the race. She is eligible for a mark now and hopefully she will do herself justice in handicaps.
Today we have declared AKSUM at Brighton. She has been dropped back in trip to a mile, which we now think is what she wants and hopefully if she handles the track she should give a good account of herself.
It was another dreary day on Saturday and unfortunately the videos are not that clear.
