Sunday 16th August
August 16, 2015
On Wednesday we started the evening action off at Bath with STORYTALE. He was wearing a hood for the first time as he had not shown much on his three maiden efforts. Held up early on he was ridden over two furlongs out. He made some steady progress and went fourth inside the final furlong. We rounded the evening off at Kempton with LE ROUQUIN. He has been off the track having a mini break which seems to have done him the world of good. He travelled well during the race and was driven to lead inside final furlong. He kept on under pressure, but sadly was headed in the final strides.
On Friday we started the evening meeting at Newmarket with TAUREAN STAR. He made a tardy start and took a keen grip early on. He looked to be one of the last off the bridle, but did not find as much as expected when he did. He is a nice prospect who should learn again from this experience and be winning races before too long. Later on the card we introduced a nice two-year-old making his racecourse debut called DUCK A L’ORANGE. Held up towards the rear, he was ridden over two furlongs out and looked to get tired when hitting the rising ground. He is sure to come on for the run and we expect a better show from him next time. We rounded off the evening with MY STRATEGY. Held up in touch he was ridden over two furlongs out. He could find no extra inside final furlong and maybe if a bit more rain had arrived he would have been more competitive.
Yesterday we started the day off at Doncaster with GEORGE CINQ. He never really got competitive in his race and maybe needs to be freshened up before his next start. Later on the card TAPER TANTRUM stayed on well to chase the winner home and has started showing the form that we know he possesses. He should be winning shortly.
Today we have declared INSTANT KARMA at Pontefract. He has failed to show the ability that he showed last season and hopefully with the application of the first time visor this will get his career back on track.
On Tuesday we have declared BANDITRY to run at Ripon. He was disappointing on his last start at Goodwood after some consistent efforts. We expect him to bounce back to form and hopefully he will give a very good account of himself.
