Sunday 4th February

February 4, 2018

It was a shame that NURSE NIGHTINGALE failed to go out with a bang in her last race at Chelmsford on Wednesday. She headed into the race on the back of her win at the track on her last start. She met a bit of trouble turning into the straight and when asked for her effort, she did not seem to pick up at all.  The inability to dominate this time may have been a factor, but at least she has now retired a winner which was the whole objective.

On Thursday it was great to get a double up, when both SACRED ACT and FREEBE ROCKS got their heads in front at Kempton. We started the evening off with FREEBE ROCKS, who had the run of things out in front. He did not pick up initially, but kept on for the pressure and did enough to hang on to score his first career win. He probably wants further than this, but it was great to get a win in the bag with him.

Later on the card in the two runner contest it was great to see SACRED ACT score his first win for us after some good efforts.  His rival refused slightly on leaving the gates, which gave us a healthy lead and when asked for his effort he looked to win nicely. He could head to the all-weather championships now on Good Friday.

Our only entry this week so far is for IMMORTAL ROMANCE at Newcastle on Friday. He appears to have wintered well and could take his chance if we thought the race was suitable. I am sure he will be entered elsewhere as well.
