On Wednesday NURSE NIGHTINGALE failed to make any impression in his race at Lingfield. She seemed to travel well just behind the leaders and did not find much room to play with against the rails coming into the last furlong. She has finished ahead of a couple of subsequent winners when runner-up over course and distance last month so we know she is capable of winning a race. It would be great to get a win out of her and she could well run in the New Year.
On Thursday DEMURRER took his chance at Chelmsford. Held up in touch in midfield, he was ridden and struggling over two furlongs out. He lost his place under pressure over one furlong out and soon weakened. He looks as though he will appreciate further and is now eligible for a handicap mark. We rounded off the day with a winner when BEST BLUE won his contest at the track. He has improved on each of his starts and was runner-up over course and distance the previous month on only his second start. He managed to gamely dominate this contest, and should hopefully develop into a decent staying handicapper next year.
We really hope that everyone will have a lovely Christmas and we are really looking forward to starting 2018!
Today the horses worked on the Cambridge Road
