Sunday 12th November

On Wednesday we started the day off at Nottingham where BEST BLUE took his chance. Towards the rear early on, he made some good headway on the outer and was prominent three furlongs out. He was ridden along over two furlongs out and looked to get tired keeping on at the same pace late on. He is sure to have needed the run and looks a nice prospect for next season. In the evening we headed to Kempton where HOT OFF THE PRESS was taking her chance. Steadied after the start, she was held up in the last trio. She was pushed along and kept on late. She is improving with her racing and will come into herself over middle distances next year.
On Thursday we headed to Chelmsford with FIRST DRIVE. She led early on and was soon headed and beaten, weakening inside the final furlong. She does not appear to be in love with the game, but at least she has won a race. It is frustrating, but she does appear to hold more ability than she wishes to use.
On Saturday we were delighted with ANY LITTLE RHYME’S racecourse debut. She has proved to be quite feisty at home and Tristan Price has done a fantastic job in keeping her settled on exercise. She tracked the leaders and made some good headway at the halfway stage. She looked to get tired and weakened entering the final furlong. She is sure to come on for the run and hopefully will go close next time. Later on the card we had expected a bigger run from TOWERLAND’S PARK. He never got into the race and was soon in trouble. We have no idea why he ran this way as on his previous start had ran full of encouragement. We will see how he is before making any further plans. He might appreciate a return to the all-weather surfaces.
Today the horses worked on the Cambridge Road
