On Tuesday we were delighted to get another win on the board with MAORI BOB at Leicester. He had been raised to a seven pound higher mark after two wins on fast ground at Beverley. He was ridden with patience and found plenty when asked to get competitive down the wide outside inside the last couple of furlongs. This sort of ground was no issue and it was another good effort from the horse.

Later on the card TAUREAN STAR who was returning from 87 days off the track and had won first time out in each of the last two seasons, but despite that fine record fresh he never got competitive here. His rider reported that he felt unbalanced when coming under pressure. He appears to have taken the race well and we will see how he is before making further plans.

Later in the afternoon we headed to Catterick with DUKES GIRL. She has been rated between 66 and 68 all season but stepping up in trip has not seen her find the improvement required to defy that sort of mark.
Duke’s Girl
We rounded the day off with NURSE NIGHTINGALE returning from a three-month break and over a longer trip. The pace of the race was not run to suit her as she would have benefited from a stronger gallop and when she was asked to make her effort she got going too late. On this evidence she looks capable of winning and hopefully we can find a similar contest for her.

Tomorrow we head to Epsom where DREAM MACHINE takes his chance. He has been so consistent this season and it would be great if we could get another win on the board with him.
On Friday we start the afternoon off at Sandown where HOUSE EDGE makes his racecourse debut. He has been working nicely at home and certainly looks a nice prospect that will probably need the run. At Doncaster THREE DUCHESSES takes her chance and she goes into the race in good form. She was a third at Goodwood on her last start which was a good effort and it would be great to see her get back into the winning groove.
