On Monday we started the day off at Ripon with THEGLASGOWWARRIOR. He travelled well for the early part of the race and when asked for his effort he does appear to lack a change of gear. His chance should arrive, but we seem to keep stumbling across one that is just too good for him.
Theglasgowwarrior
In the evening we headed to Windsor where we started the evening off with IMMORTAL ROMANCE. He chased the leading pair and was pushed along before the halfway stage. He stayed close up until fading in the final furlong. We rounded off the evening with BECUNA. She was always kept handy and made some progress to dispute second place, fading inside the final furlong. It was a better effort than her previous start and hopefully we will find a winnable opportunity for her shortly.
Immortal Romance
Today we were delighted to get another win in the bag with MAORI BOB. Dropped back in trip, he was always in a good position before taking over approaching the final two furlongs and pulling clear to win for his first success on the turf. He was suited by the strong pace and looks capable of winning again.
Tomorrow we have eight declared runners starting the afternoon off at Salisbury with RUPERT’S LASS and CHICKPEA in the same race. CHICKPEA was very green at Leicester on her debut and with the step up in trip; we think she will appreciate the extra furlong. RUPERT’S LASS was slowly away on her debut and is another who should appreciate the extra furlong. Later on the card JIVE TALKING is looking to keep her good run of form going. She has been working nicely at home and it would be great to get another win with her. We round off the day at Salisbury with DUKE’S GIRL. She had run well on her two starts in June, but was disappointing on her latest start at Lingfield. She is in good form and we expect her to run much better. At Beverley we start the day off with ARABIAN JAZZ. She finished down the field at Newmarket on her latest start in a hot nursery, but she has good form at Beverley where she has been runner-up over course and distance. Later on the card TAPER TANTRUM takes his chance. He was a good second on his last start at Sandown and hopefully he can recreate that effort here, but go one better. We round of the meeting with ARMAGNAC who is capable of winning, but just needs to put his best foot forward. Our final runner of the day is at Chepstow where NEVERBEEN TO PARIS takes his chance. A good second at Leicester last week hopefully he will go one better.
On Friday we start the day off at Wolverhampton with ICE DANCING. She appears to like the all-weather having already won at the track and hopefully with the appliance of the hood it should help keep her settled. In the evening we head to Newmarket starting the evening off with HIGHLIGHT REEL. He has been working well at home and is another who will be trying a hood for the first time which Jamie felt would help him after his Newcastle run. Later on the card HART STOPPER takes his chance. He never got into the race on the good to soft ground on his last start and with condition more in his favour he should run well. We round of the evening with DUCHY who did not get into the race at Sandown on her last start and after some nice work since that effort we expect her to do better here.
