We have had our first runners of Royal Ascot 2017 having just seen CHEVAL BLANCHE and SALAMAH run. CHEVAL BLANCHE set the pace for the most of the race and when she came to the seven furlong marker she dropped away. SALAMAH was always kept in a midfield position and when asked for her effort she did not find anything.
This evening we head to Chelmsford where we have NEVERBEEN TO PARIS making his racecourse debut. He is a lovely two-year-old colt, who has shown plenty of promise in his work. He can be a little colty but hopefully he will keep his cool and show his true colours. Later on the card GRACELAND takes her chance having missed getting into her race at Royal Ascot. She appears in good form and is so consistent. If she settles in her race she should hopefully go close.
Tomorrow it is a really big day for the yard when BIG ORANGE takes his chance in the Ascot Gold Cup. He tackles 20 furlongs for the first time which we are hopeful he will get and has been in great form since Sandown. He will be ridden by James Doyle who had a sit on him this morning. Later on the card RONALD R makes his re-appearance after his Newmarket win. He is in great form, but is a bit up against it with his draw. At Chelmsford MISS FAY makes her seasonal debut. She was placed in two seven furlong maidens last year and we think that the new trip should suit her. She has been applied with a visor for the first time and hopefully this will eke out some improvement.
On Friday we head to Bath where JIVE TALKING is hoping to go one better than her recent Nottingham run. On that evidence she certainly looks capable of winning and it would be great to get a win in the bag before the July Sales. Later on the card AIR MINISTRY is another looking to get his head in front before the July Sales. He is capable of winning a race and hopefully he will have his day. At Newmarket WINSTON C makes his re-appearance after a decent effort at Kempton on the all-weather. Conditions should be in his favour and hopefully he will give a good account of himself.
