On Tuesday we headed to Beverley with THE RAVEN MASTER. He made most of the running and was beginning to weaken when slightly hampered by the eventual runner-up. This was his first start on turf and perhaps he would have been more at home on a faster surface. He heads to the Doncaster sales next week and hopefully he will catch someone’s eye.
Tomorrow we start the afternoon off at Salisbury where DUKE’S GIRL takes her chance. She looks as though she will appreciate the step up in trip and the ground should be in her favour. Hopefully she will appreciate the move into handicap class. Later in the afternoon GRACELAND is looking to make it two wins from two runs as she takes her chance at York following her Ascot success. She has taken the race well and should be competitive again here. At Newmarket we have declared the two runners, starting the evening off with QUINQUEREME. She has come to hand relatively quickly since her arrival and will benefit from her racecourse debut. She will probably need the run and is sure to come on for it. We round off the evening with FIRE BRIGADE who has been working really well at home. We feel he has potential and hopefully he can start fulfilling it this season.
On Friday we start the afternoon off at Newmarket where WONDER OF DUBAI is looking to score his first victory. Runner up on both of his last starts he certainly deserves to go one better. At York we start the afternoon off with MAIN DESIRE. Stepped up in class from her maiden win at Nottingham, she appears to have come on from that run and we are hoping for a good account from her. Later on the card COMPRISE takes his chance in what looks to be a competitive handicap. He heads into the race in good shape and with such a low weight could be in with a chance. We round off the day at Newcastle with TAPER TANTRUM. He looked to get tired on his last start at Chelmsford in March and hopefully he can get more competitive here. He likes the all-weather surfaces and appears in good form at home.
