Sunday 8th January
January 8, 2017
We hope that everyone has had a good Christmas and would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year.
On Thursday we had our first runners of 2017 when PREOBRAJENSKA took her chance. She was pretty much up against it from the start, when being given the worst draw. She was being dropped in trip and looked to hang when under pressure and asked for her effort. She is certainly capable of winning a race and hopefully we will be able to find one before she heads to the February Sales.
On Friday after declaring KISSINGER a non-runner due to lameness we were left with DUCK A L’ORANGE at Kempton. He was unable to set the pace this time and when asked for effort he did not pick up well enough and appeared to hang right-handed in the final two furlongs. He appears fine after his race and we will come up with another plan for him
The horses have started to arrive back in after winter breaks. They are due to do a month of trotting now, which really does do them the world of good as it really strengthens them up for the long season ahead. On Saturday they all trotted out to Wooditton which is a great favourite with the lads. It was a horrible day, but below is a link to watch them trotting.
Yesterday we also had four workers, GENERAL HAZARD who worked on his own and then HART STOPPER, NAMIRAH and ELEMENTARY who all worked together. They all have entries coming up next week and we will have a look at the races before making further plans.
