On Friday we had declared the two runners at Newbury. We started the afternoon off with BOCKING END. She chased the leaders and was settled in midfield. She was asked for her effort and weakened over two furlongs out. She is possibly showing the signs now of a long season and is due to head to the December Sales. Later on the card GIANT REDWOOD failed to impress in his race and never really got competitive. He has failed to recreate any of his earlier runs and will head to the Horses in Training Sales on Monday. He looks to have a future over hurdles.
Our first draft has headed up to Tattersalls for the Horses in Training Sales where we have six going through on Monday. The pick of these has to be MACHINE LEARNER who has really found his form of late. He looks an ideal sort for jumping and should hopefully make his money. NOTALOT is another who has been a consistent sort this year and should hopefully prove popular. We also have GOODWOOD MIRAGE who heads to the sales on the back of a fairly successful season on the flat, GIANT REDWOOD, AMERICAN PATROL who is a good looking son of Rio De La Plata and has failed to do himself justice in his two year old career so far and the unraced PRINCE MONOLULU.
We have another three going through on Thursday with the pick of these possibly being PURPLE RAVEN. PEACE TELEGRAM also goes and he could make up into quite a nice stayer and finally we have STICKS MCKENZIE who has failed to show anything in his two runs so far. It is a horrible time of year to say goodbye to them and hopefully they will all sell well and find lovely new homes.
Today the horses worked across the flat and as you can see from the video’s it was a gloomy day.
