Sunday 3rd July

July 3, 2016

Yesterday we go back to the action starting the day off at Leicester. STRATHEARN got the day off and running for us and he was being tried in cheek pieces for the first time. He chased the leaders and plugged on under pressure to grab the runner-up spot inside the last furlong. He is definitely capable of winning a race and heads into the July Sales on the back of this run. Later on the card BLUE MOON RISING was taking her chance. She chased the leaders and was ridden over two furlongs out. She was soon beaten and did not appear to handle the ground.

We rounded the day off at Beverley with CHELABELLA wearing blinkers for the first time. She raced handy early on and when asked for her effort she soon dropped away. She certainly should be showing more than she is and we will see if anything comes to light to explain this effort.

On Tuesday we have declared AKSUM and Brighton. She has failed in her effort so far and hopefully with the application of sheepskin cheek pieces it will bring about some improvement. She is certainly capable of winning a contest like this.

Today the horses worked on the Back of the Flat gallop
