On Thursday we headed to Royal Ascot with our first runner of the meeting TAUREAN STAR. He raced off the pace on the far side. Ridden along over one furlong out, he stayed on inside the final furlong but did not have the pace of the leaders. In the evening at Lingfield, things did not go right for PURPLE RAVEN. She was trapped out wide from a poor draw and a crawl turned into a sprint, which did not suit her.
On Friday we headed to Ascot with the two runners. CHEVAL BLANCHE started the afternoon off for us stepped in class in the group 3 Albany Stakes. She was unable to quicken when under pressure and weakened in the final furlong. Later on the card FABRICATE ran with credit and was staying on nicely from off the pace. This was only his sixth start and he looks as though he will now appreciate a longer trip.
Today we head to Pontefract with GIANT REDWOOD. He has failed to find his form so far since he arrived from the Horses in Training Sales. He has been working well so let’s hope he can get competitive.
We have no runners on Monday and then on Tuesday we head to Beverley with STRATHEARN. He is another who has failed to find his form this season and hopefully if he can put in a good display here it can only enhance his value at the July Sales.
Yesterday the horses worked across the flat
