Sunday 29th May

May 29, 2016

On Thursday we headed to Chelmsford with the two runners. We started the afternoon off with ROCK OF MAX. He looked to be travelling well for the majority of the race and had every chance. He was asked for his effort at the three furlong marker and did not appear to find a lot. He is getting quite a frustrating horse now as he certainly unlucky to still be a maiden. Later on the card AKSUM possibly did not stay the trip in her race. She was given a positive ride and when asked for her effort with two furlongs left to run, she could find no more. It looks like she is better suited by a mile and hopefully it will not be too long before she gets her head in front.

On Friday we headed to Haydock with the two declared runners. We started the afternoon with WAR DEPARTMENT who has not really shown any of his two year old promise. He was settled towards the rear and when asked for his effort soon faded. It might be worth trying more positive tactics with him and jumping out and trying to make all before his entry in the July Sales. Later on the card CLEAR EVIDENCE looked to be travelling nicely for the majority of his race and when asked for his effort he weakened in the final furlong. He dropped away quite tamely after travelling well early on. We will see how he has come out of the race before making further plans.

On Monday we head to Windsor where we are hoping GRACELAND will give us a change of fortune. She will need to jump from the stalls much better than she did at Chester on her last start to have any chance, but she looks in good form and fingers crossed for a good run. It would be great to register a winner on the board.

On Tuesday we head to Redcar with a nice two-year-old making her racecourse debut. She has been working nicely with HART STOPPER who has been our only two-year-old runners so far. She is a lovely looking filly, who looks as though she will keep progressing with her racing. At Wolverhampton we have declared BOCKING END who heads into the race on the back of a win at the track last time. She looks to be in good form at home we expect her to run a good race.
