Monday 30th November
December 1, 2015
On Monday we were delighted with the performance shown by STRATHEARN at Chelmsford. He had been gelded since finishing well beaten at Newmarket last time and looked to bounce back to form on this his all-weather debut. This is something to build on and he has now gone for a winter break. He will certainly do well for another winter under his belt and he looks to have the makings of a nice handicapper.
On Thursday we started the afternoon off with GIANT SHADOW at Southwell. He again failed to impress in his race and he certainly gives you the impression that he is not in love with the game. At Chelmsford we started the afternoon off with BONHOMIE who chased the leading trio and was ridden entering the final two furlongs. She looked unable to quicken over one furlong out and kept on at the same pace inside the final furlong. She has now been sent for a winter break and should hopefully continue to develop with another winter under her belt. We rounded the evening off with ROCK OF MAX who had a lovely position through the early part of the race. Once he was asked for his effort and hit the front he immediately hung right, and after bumping the winner he then edged left which did nothing for his chances. He appeared to get the trip well and the ability is certainly there. We just need to find a winnable opportunity for him now.
We have only the one entry this week and that is INSTANT KARMA at Huntingdon taking his chance for the first time over hurdles. He has schooled well now three times and if he takes his chance hopefully he will be able to give a good account of himself.
On Saturday we had a few working on the Cambridge Road.
Left to Right – Sciarra and Modest
Left to Right – Captain Lars and Instant Karma
Left to Right – Daleside and Sororal
