On Sunday we headed to Pontefract with INSTANT KARMA who was our only runner. He was a course winner and so we knew he liked the track. He was held up towards the rear and made some headway two furlongs out. He was soon ridden along and kept on again in the final furlong. He looked slightly unlucky in running and would have finished much closer.
On Tuesday we headed to Ripon with BANDITRY. He did not appear to see this out on the testing ground once switched to the outside and was struggling with two furlongs left to run.
Tomorrow we head to Chepstow with the three runners. We start the afternoon off with GIANT SHADOW who we are hoping will show some improvement for being gelded. He seems to be knuckling down better at home so fingers crossed for a good run. Later on the card TARANDO is looking to get off the mark. If she can recreate her Leicester run she should certainly have every chance. We round off the day with BIPARTISAN who has not been seen on the track since the middle of June. She is a feisty lady who does hold plenty of ability and as long as she keeps her cool she should have a good chance.
On Friday we head to York where BIG ORANGE takes his chance and is hoping to make it three out of three. He looks in great form and worked nicely this morning. He certainly would not want any more rain to arrive and fingers crossed now for a couple of dry days. We round the evening off at Kempton starting with NIBLAWI. He has been running consistently all season and it would be great to get a bracket by his name. He will run wearing sheepskin cheek pieces for the first time and hopefully this will bring about the necessary improvement for him to get his head in front. We round of the evening with ROCK OF MAX who is making his handicap debut. He has not shown much so far and we were a little surprised that the handicap mark he was given was as high as it was. Hopefully we will be proved wrong and he will be competitive off this mark.
