On Monday we headed to Windsor with MIDAS HAZE. Held up towards the rear, she was pushed along over two furlongs out. She kept on steadily and certainly showed signs of encouragement. She will have needed the run and is sure to do herself justice once handicapped. At Leicester it was a good effort from BERLAND in what turned out to be quite a warm contest. Always prominent he was ridden over two furlongs out. He was asked for his effort and stayed on at the same pace in the final furlong. It was a better display from him and we will look for another opportunity for him.
On Tuesday we started the afternoon off at Nottingham with GRACELAND. She raced towards the rear after missing the break and although she ran on having come off the bridle some way out she was never getting to the winner. She looks as though she wants twelve furlongs and will be winning again once stepped up in trip. At Chepstow we were delighted with the effort shown by NIBLAWI making his debut on the turf. Held up towards rear, he made some smooth headway and was ridden to lead over two furlongs out. He was challenged for the lead and stayed on at the one pace. At Newcastle GEORGE CINQ failed to get any cover and this did not help his chances. He runs well with more time between races and so we will freshen him up and then make plans. At Chelmsford after the withdrawal of BORN TO REIGN it just left us with AUSSIE BERRY. He raced in touch in midfield and was ridden to go fourth. He had no chance with the leading pair and plugged on in the final furlong pressing for third near the finish.
We have just seen TARANDO run at Lingfield. She was bumped all over the place and went from being towards the front of the field to getting shuffled right back to the rear of the field. She had no chance after this.
