Sunday 17th May

On Thursday we had declared the two runners at Newmarket evening meeting. We started with BIPARTISAN who thankfully was able to take her chance after the rain arrived in the afternoon. She shaped as though this step up in trip would suit and came from a long way back. She saw out the longer trip well and should get a race in the bag before too long. Later on the card THEM AND US gave another consistent effort and is developing into a consistent handicapper. He looked to be beaten by a progressive winner and he certainly looks as though he is capable of winning again.

On Friday ROSECOMB was making her racecourse debut. She was trying six furlongs and Jamie felt that she needed further. She will certainly come on for the run and over further I am sure she we will be seen to better effect. We know she has ability. Later on the card LE ROUQUIN chased the leaders and was ridden over two furlongs out. He rallied over a furlong out and had every chance inside the final furlong. He could do with some relief from the handicapper which hopefully he will get and can then win again. At Newbury GOLDEN HELLO was making his racecourse debut. He chased the leaders and was ridden over two furlongs. He kept on at the same pace and could have possibly finished a bit closer had he been given a more forceful ride. It was a nice introduction for him and he is sure to have enjoyed his experience. He will certainly come on for the run and should be in the mix on his next start. We rounded off the evening at Hamilton with INSTANT KARMA. He raced prominent and was asked for his effort when driven over two furlongs out. He edged right and weakened over one furlong out. He has returned from Hamilton in good order and we will see how he is before making further plans.

Yesterday we headed to Thirsk with the two runners. We started the afternoon off with STONE ROSES who was having her first outing away from sprint trips and went close only being beaten a length. She looks like she is better suited by this trip and should hopefully win next time. We rounded the afternoon off with NEYMAR. He looked to appreciate the trip and travelled well for the majority of the race. He is eligible for handicaps now, where given the right rating he should be competitive.

On Monday we head to Windsor with MIDAS HAZE making her racecourse debut. She has been doing some nice pieces of work and although she will come on for the run she will probably need it. At Leicester BERLAND takes his chance. He is a horse with ability and should run a nice race.

On Tuesday we have a really busy day with five runners at four different meetings. We start the afternoon off at Nottingham with GRACELAND who has been in great form heading into the race. It looks quite a competitive little event, but hopefully she will do herself justice. At Chepstow we have NIBLAWI taking his chance. He is a fine, looking big horse who has taken a while to come to himself and hopefully on the turf he can show his ability. At Newcastle GEORGE CINQ heads into the race on top of his game. He has been applied with a visor for the first time which will hopefully not set him alive in the early part of his race and will help him in the latter stages. At Chelmsford we are hoping that BORN TO REIGN can get back on track and later on the card AUSSIE BERRY heads into the race after his recent Wetherby third. If he recreates this run then he should certainly be competitive.
