We were delighted to get off the mark with MY STRATEGY on Wednesday. Making his handicap debut and having been gelded over the winter he looked a different horse. Held up off the pace in the main group, he found plenty once in front winning nicely. He runs again on Tuesday and on the evidence of this you would expect him to be competitive. Later in the evening sadly LE ROUQUIN failed to score his hat trick but it was another good effort. He did nothing wrong travelling really well throughout the race and simply bumped into a slightly better treated horse on the day.
On Friday we were slightly dissapointed by the effort of BERLAND who had certainly been working better than he ran. He took a keen hold when held up and was ridden along over two furlongs out. He soon made no impression and was beaten entering the final furlong. We will see how he returns from Musselburgh before making further plans.
On Saturday we were delighted with the effort of GEORGE CINQ on his racecourse re-appearance. He was given a confident ride and arrived from last place in plenty of time. He was only just out-battled and is sure to come on for the run. This is something to build on here and I am sure he will give his owners plenty on fun this season.
On Friday we worked some of the two-year-old for the first time on the grass gallops.
