Sunday 26th April

On Monday we had declared STORYTALE at Pontefract. He was awkward at the start and was always in rear after that. He has now been gelded and hopefully that will produce some improvement.
On Tuesday were delighted to get off the mark with GRACELAND at Wolverhampton. Stepping up in trip on her seasonal debut, she showed the best turn of foot to open her account at the fourth attempt. She has certainly improved over the winter and hopefully can now make her mark in handicaps. She has taken the race well and we will come up with another plan for her.
On Wednesday we headed to Epsom with the two runners. We kicked the afternoon off with INSTANT KARMA who was having only his third start and making his handicap debut after 184 days off the track. He made a big move around the outside to dispute the lead rounding Tattenham Corner, but he could not maintain it. He did not look suited by the track and he is worth another chance on softer ground. He has taken his race well and we will look to find a similar contest for him on a more suitable track. Later on the card THEM AND US was being stepped up in trip. He took a long time to wear down the leader having been produced with his effort out wide after turning in. He still did well to win this considering he was last running down the hill. There should be more to come from him and he could be an exciting prospect.
On Thursday we headed to Beverley with THUNDER IN MYHEART. She ran a promising race to finish second and they pulled clear of the remainder of the field. She looks as though she came across one that was in good form and it was reported that it had been working well and looked a picture in the paddock. She has taken the race well and we will look for a similar contest for her. Later on the Southwell card ONE MAN ARMY got off the mark on the second time of asking. He appreciated the drop back in trip and was nicely settled behind the pace. He took up the running some way out and kept on well when pressed inside the final furlong. He can improve for this run and could have the making of a nice handicapper.
Yesterday we were delighted with the effort from BAREFOOT DANCER who was given a nice introductory race. He looked very green early on and was up against it with his lack of experience. Slow away as the gates opened, the moderate early pace meant he was soon able to latch on to the back of the field. He continued to run green and when the penny eventually dropped coming into the straight, it looked as though he might pose a threat to the winner, but again showed his inexperience by hanging in behind his rival and was never quite getting there. He will be much better next time and should take all the beating.
On Sunday we head to Chelmsford where FRANKLIN D makes his re-appearance. He is a nice horse and ran with bags of encouragement on his first start last season. We hope he has the makings of a potentially nice horse this season and has pleased in his work so far. On the Wetherby card we star the meeting off with AUSSIE BERRY who is making his career debut. He was kept of the track last season with some niggley little problems and looks to be over them now. He has wintered well and should give a good account of himself. Later on the card PENANG PAPARAJAH takes his chance. He appears to be improving in his work and will hopefully run a good race now handicapped.
On Monday we have declared NEYMAR at Windsor. He has certainly come on for his Newmarket run and hopefully will be competitive here. He will run wearing a hood for the first time. Later on the Wolverhampton card STONE ROSES makes her seasonal debut. She may just want a bit further, but she appears in good form and will hopefully run a nice race. She is one who will keep improving as the season unfolds.
On Tuesday we have declared DOWN TO EARTH at Nottingham. He looks as though he will appreciate a return to the turf and should run a nice race. At Wolverhampton BORN TO REIGN take his chance. He looks to have come on for his last start and should hopefully be spot on this time.
Yesterday the horses worked on the Peat moss
