On Monday we had declared the two runners at Wolverhampton. We started off with LE ROUQUIN who was slowly into his stride. He made some headway when under pressure, but could not trouble the leaders. He has been slightly disappointing as we thought on the evidence of his first run he would make up into a nice horse. He has shown more ability at home and hopefully we will be able to get a win out of him before the February Sales. Later on the card BORN TO REIGN failed to get home with his head in front, but he again gave another consistent effort. He chased the leaders and lost his place from four furlongs out. He made some good headway when asked for his effort and stayed on at the same pace inside the final furlong.
On Tuesday we started the afternoon at Southwell with LEWAMY who again gave another good account of himself. He tracked the leaders and was pushed along when looking slightly outpaced early on. He was ridden and stayed on to chase the winner inside the final furlong, but could make no impression. It was a solid run on his first visit to Southwell, despite an unfavourable draw and he may be seen to better effect steeped up to a mile. Later on the card HABESHIA failed to impress again in his race. He chased the leaders and was soon ridden along. He failed to make any impression and sadly he is failing to recreate the form he was showing in November last year.
On Friday we have declared FASHION LINE at Lingfield. She has been in great form in her work, but will probably just need the run having been off the track for 177 days. She really does give her all and hopefully we will have another successful all weather campaign with her this season like she had last year.
