The horses sold well on Monday evening at the Horses in Training Sales with INSTANT KARMA being our top lot. He did not make enough money at £67,000 and was brought back. He looks an exciting prospect on the evidence of his Pontefract run and hopefully it was a shrewd move. PAIZON was our next top lot coming in at £55,000 and will remain in this country with trainer Kevin Ryan. He is a nice horse and we wish his new connections the best of good fortune with him. ROCK OF LEON and NAM HAI were brought by jump trainers and so at least we will see them continue their careers in this country. The rest of the draft sold well and it is always a sad time of year as some of the horses will end up going abroad and we will loose track off what they go on to do.
We have only had VALEN run this week so far and she did not fair any better on a return to the turf at Leicester. She raced on the far side and the chased leaders. She was ridden over four furlongs out and soon weakened. She has proved a bit disappointing this year as we had hoped she would do well.
Today we have declared SPIRITOFTHEUNION for Friday at Newmarket. She worked well this morning and looks in great form. It is a funny time for fillies as they can go in their coats with the weather and change of the time of year. Hopefully she is still well in herself and will prove competitive.
