We were delighted to see THATCHEREEN finally get off the mark at Lingfield on Sunday. She was held up in the last pair and made some good headway. She led two furlongs out and was ridden comfortably clear of the rest of the field.

On Monday we started the day at Ripon where we were delighted with the performance shown by SPIRITOFTHEUNION to get off the mark. She set to make all and was pushed clear over two furlongs out. She was ridden out in the final furlong very comfortably and the win never looked in any doubt. Later in the evening ROLE PLAYER was disappointing at Windsor. He clearly did not run up to form and we will see how he is before making further plans. His best form is on the all weather so maybe we will try and find him a race at one of these particular tracks.

On Tuesday at Catterick, BERLAND gave a decent display building on his recent Yarmouth run. He was soon tracking the leading pair and made good headway on the outer to lead two furlongs out. He was soon ridden and kept on nicely to score his win. We had also declared two runners at Ffos Las starting the afternoon of with ALMAX. He started slowly towards the rear and was ridden and made some headway over two furlongs out. He ran on under pressure in the final furlong and on this evidence he may just be better suited by seven furlongs. Later on the card BY JUPITER was switched back on the turf after running her best race so far on the Lingfield polytrack. She was allowed to bowl along in front and seemed to be travelling better than anything straightening up for home. She just looked to be outstayed on this more galloping track. It is only a matter of time before she gets her head in front.

Today we have seen INVOKE give another good effort without getting her head in front. She was always in a good position travelling nicely, but was no match for the winner who won nicely.

Tomorrow we start the day at Yarmouth with BOURBON PRINCE who takes his chance in the selling handicap. We have left the visor off this time and instead try a set of sheepskin cheek pieces, hopefully this will do the trick. Later on the card HALA HALA looks to have a good chance in her four runner event. She put up a nice display at Newmarket on her last start and goes into the race in good order. Finally we round off the action with HOT MUSTARD who always gives a consistent effort of himself and his chance would be greatly helped if they do get some of the rain that is forecast. At Haydock we take our chance with SILVER MIRAGE. We hope that we have found a race that she can be competitive in as she has slightly lost her way of late.

On Friday we have declared a nice two-year-old colt making his racecourse debut called BANDITRY. He has a very similar profile to BERLAND and like this particular horse he will probably benefit from the run.

The horses worked today on the peat moss.
