Wednesday 9th July

July 9, 2014

Yesterday ACROSS THE CAPE failed to impress at Lingfield on her seasonal debut. She is now heading for the July Sales and hopefully someone will take a shine to her and have a lot of fun.

Today we have seen a decent effort from BY JUPITER who just failed to get up and get her head in front. She was settled towards the rear and when asked for her effort she appeared to take a while to get going and when the penny finally dropped she finished down the field. It was a shame she did not race handier as if she had, she would probably have won. HOT MUSTARD again gave another solid display at Yarmouth staying on nicely towards the end of the race. He looks as though he may appreciate a bit further, but it was another consistent effort. Later on the Yarmouth card GOOD HOPE thankfully got a winner on the board for us. She was given a lovely ride by Ryan Moore who had her handy all the way and when asked for her effort she just kept producing more. She looks a though she will stay further and hopefully we can get on a winning curve with her now. Our last runner was back at Lingfield where BOURBON PRINCE took his chance. He was settled in a midfield position and when asked for his effort he did not find as much as hoped and stayed on at the same pace to finish fourth.

We have no runners tomorrow then on Friday we have declared GEORGE CINQ at Ascot and PIAZON at Chester. GEORGE CINQ runs in the apprentice race and although it looks a competitive race, he heads into it in great form and Louis Steward is a good strong apprentice. In the evening we head to Chester with PIAZON. He has been given a mini break since his last run and heads into the race fresh and well.
