On Monday we started the day at Ayr with three declared runners. GEORGE CINQ kicked thing off for us and he was ridden more patiently than on his previous start. He lacked the pace to get competitive when switched out wide and managed to finish fourth. The ground went against him and hopefully he can improve on this when the ground comes back in his favour. Later on the card FASHION LINE travelled well for the early part of the race, but found little off the bridle and possibly a combination of the ground going against her and not really seeing out this longer trip was a factor in the result of the race. Our last runner was HOT MUSTARD who was 2lb higher than when winning at Yarmouth on his previous start. He did not appear to be helped by a slow start and came to challenge away from the action. His challenge sadly amounted to nothing and he finished in seventh position.
On Tuesday we had declared ALMAX at Lingfield. He chased the leaders and was slightly struggling by the halfway stage. He looks as though he will be suited by a drop back to six furlongs on soft ground.
Today we start the afternoon off at Yarmouth where STONE ROSES is making a re-appearance after her recent Newmarket run. She appears to have come on for that effort and hopefully she will be seen to better effect here. ROCK OF LEON has been stepped up in trip and with second bottom weight in the race he should give a good account of himself. Our last runner is ROLE PLAYER who goes into the race on the back of his Kempton win. He is in good form and appears to be progressing. At Haydock NAM HAI has been declared to take his chance and thankfully the rain has arrived to enhance his chance. He is trying the mile and six furlongs for the first time and hopefully this step up in trip should suit.
Tomorrow we start the day off at Newbury with BY JUPITER. She has been progressing well in her work and is really starting to come to herself. At Nottingham MANTOU takes his chance and he seems to have come on for his Yarmouth run. He is a big backward sort, who is sure to keep progressing as the season unfolds. Also at Nottingham we have declared SILVER MIRAGE to take her chance. She is a nice filly, who has the profile to improve with her racing and hopefully we will see a good account from her here.
On Friday we have declared FIERY SUNSET to take her chance at Chepstow. She has been in good form in her work and we expect her to run a good race.
