Sadly we did not have a successful day yesterday with our runners. We started the afternoon off at York with THE LARK in the Middleton Stakes at York. She tracked the leaders and made some headway on the inner three furlongs out. She was close up two furlongs out when ridden and had every chance. She weakened inside the final furlong and looks as though she would appreciate further. She appears to have taken the race well and we will look to find another contest for her. At Salisbury INVOKE was our only runner. She led the centre group until joined on the stands side after two furlongs. She was ridden over two furlongs out and was soon headed. She looks as though the drop back to five furlongs will suit her better. In the evening we started at Newmarket with HO YAM LAY making her racecourse debut. She ran green early on when held up in touch in last trio. She was asked for her effort and got slightly hampered well over one furlong out. She stayed on steadily in the final furlong and certainly showed some promise. Later on the card SHANTI, again took a keen hold when held up in touch towards the rear. He was ridden along and was soon beaten. He is proving to be quite frustrating as he is certainly better than he has been running. Our last runner was THATCHEREEN and it was great to see her bounce back to form. She came from well off the pace and had to switch towards the stands side to get a clear run. She stayed on nicely in the closing stages to step up markedly on her reappearance run. She certainly is starting to blossom and hopefully she can go close next time.

Today we have runners at Newmarket with SAVOY SHOWGIRL, PIAZON at York and we round the afternoon off with RAVEN RIDGE at Newbury.

On Saturday we have declared TARANDO to run at Thirsk. Unfortunately she appears to have found herself in the strongest division, but she is improving all the time and a good effort is expected. In the evening FINN CLASS is hoping to give a good show in his race at Doncaster. He should hopefully get conditions in his favour and should build on his Musselburgh run.

Due to staff holidays the website will now not be updated until Monday 26th May
