On Sunday we had declared to two runners at Newmarket and Salisbury. We started the afternoon off with MADAME DEFARGE who was taking her chance on the Rowley Mile Racecourse in the Group 3 Dahlia Stakes. She was held up towards the rear and looked slightly outpaced when under pressure over two furlongs out. She was no threat to the leaders and flashed her tail when under pressure over one furlong out. Later on the Salisbury card VALEN did not fair much better. Held up towards the rear she made some headway over three furlongs out. She soon weakened and finished down the field. We certainly expected better from her and we will see how she is over the next few days before making further plans.

On Monday FASHION LINE gave another gallant effort to go down to a horse she was giving a stone in weight too. She tracked the leaders and was ridden to challenge strongly over one furlong out. She kept on, but sadly was always just held. At Warwick we started the afternoon off with TARANDO who we were hoping may give us our first two-year-old winner. She had already finished behind Rise Up Lotus on her debut run at Newmarket and finished closer to this rival. She is certainly progressing and may just be suited by six furlongs. Later on the card BED BED raced quite keenly early on and was ridden over two furlongs out. She could find no extra over a furlong from home and was soon beaten. Hopefully we will find a race she can be competitive in as I am sure she is capable of winning in her own grade.

Today we have the two runners starting the afternoon off at Chester with NAM HAI. He is a progressive sort and is improving all the time. It would be great to see a decent effort from him although it is certainly a step up in grade from the maiden that he won. In the evening ROCK OF LEON is hoping to get his career off to a winning start at Nottingham. He has the visor applied for the first time, which will certainly help his chances and it would be great to get a win in the bag for his patient owners.

Tomorrow we have declared WIGMORE HALL and it is certainly great to get him back on the track. He has looked in great form at home and although he will probably need the run he should give a very good account of himself.
