Wednesday 30th April

April 30, 2014

On Monday we had declared INVOKE to run at Wolverhampton. She again ran with credit, but some relief from the handicapper would give her a chance. She was in front early on and led into the straight before getting caught in the final furlong.

Yesterday we were delighted with BIG ORANGE’S victory at Lingfield. He gave a front running performance and was easily going best from three furlongs out. He was pushed out to the line and stayed on nicely. He should hopefully make his mark in handicaps and looks as though he will stay further. In the evening we started the action at Wolverhampton with BOURBON PRINCE who was hoping to go one better than his Warwick run. He was soon poorly positioned on leaving the gates in the rear resulting in him giving first run to the winner and runner up. He is still learning and it will not be too long before he gets his head in front. Later on the card GAUCHITA was slowly away and never really got competitive from an early stage. She is worth another chance and hopefully we will be able to find a similar race that she will be competitive in. Our last runner was GALIZZI and he travelled powerfully for the majority of the race. He was unable to find enough under pressure to claw back the tough winner. He is learning all the time, with this being only his third start and he certainly holds a lot of potential.

We have an easy couple of days and then return to the action at the weekend.

Today the horses worked on the Peat Moss.
