Monday 28th April

April 28, 2014

On Thursday BOURBON PRINCE gave an improved performance at Warwick. He was held up and made some good headway over two furlongs out. He led over one furlong out and was headed well inside final furlong. He ran a fine race on his handicap debut, but was just caught. He has been declared to run again on Tuesday at Wolverhampton and hopefully he will be able to get his head in front.

On Friday we had declared SHANTI. He pulled far too hard early on and was ridden along over three furlongs out. He weakened quickly, well over two furlongs out and finished in the middle of the field. He is better than this run would suggest and hopefully with a run under his belt he will settle better on his next start.

Today we started the afternoon off at Ripon with FIERY SUNSET. She took a keen hold and pressed the leaders. She was driven over two furlongs out and hung right when weakening over one furlong out. Perhaps this track did not suit her as on her Newbury run you would have expected much better. At Doncaster we started the afternoon off with THATCHEREEN. She dwelt at the start and was always in the rear. She was ridden along well over two furlongs out and was always behind. Later on the card DORSET GIFT raced prominently early on. She was ridden along halfway and soon weakened.

On Monday we have declared INVOKE at Wolverhampton. She put up a good display on her first start at Kempton and hopefully we have found a winnable opportunity for her.

On Tuesday BIG ORANGE makes his reappearance after his second at Kempton. He looks to have come on for his run and hopefully should be competitive. At Yarmouth we have declared FINN CLASS. He ran a good race in a competitive handicap at Musselburgh and if the ground stays in his favour he should run well. At Wolverhampton we start the evening off with BOURBON PRINCE and then GAUCHITA makes her seasonal debut. She appears to have matured and hopefully in this company she will run well. GALIZZI makes a re-appearance after his victory at the track. He worked nicely this morning and he has the makings of a nice horse.

Today the horses worked on the Summer Gallop.
